My husband and I bought an older house last year and the chimney was one of the projects on our "to do" list. We made an appointment, and Mike Kelty came out to do the initial inspection. From the moment that he came in with his equipment, I could tell that he was an absolute professional. Not only was he extremely careful not to track anything into the house (shoe covers and drop cloth for the carpet), he was also extremely polite and very patient with my many questions. We asked for the most extensive inspection available--including digital photography of the inside of our chimney. Mike showed me the photographic results of our inspection and explained step-by-step the structural problems and other issues that we were looking at. I was pretty shocked at the extent of disrepair left by the previous homeowner but still very glad that we were working with someone who really knew the details of this work.
For our purposes, the Bellfire seemed to be a perfect fit. "High tech" might not be the first description that comes to mind when you think of a fireplace, but this product is pretty amazing. One of the best features is that after the fire has burned out the fireplace itself retains the heat produced and continues to radiate heat for up to a day or two later.
Mike helped us light the first fire and took a lot of time to talk to us and make sure that we were comfortable. Since installation we have had no problems and we are really enjoying the fireplace. There's nothing like a warm fire to make a home feel nice and cozy!
